General Info
Dungeon Runners like the name suggests is a fast-paced action dungeon crawler. However they are taking pages out of the Diablo 2 handbook and thus have random generated dungeons, when you log out and back in the entire game will reset for you, the monsters that inhabit each area will remain the same but dungeons repopulate, barrels replaced, bosses respawn, layouts are randomized, etc.
Dungeon Runners is designed for both solo and multiplayer play styles. You can run around by yourself killing monsters in your personal dungeon, or hop to any server and find others to group up and tackle the dungeons together. The great thing about not neglecting the solo’er is when you have only 15-30 minutes to play the last thing you want to do is log onto a group based game that does not allow you to enjoy any content without a solid group, in Dungeon Runners that is not the case. The focus here is fun and not punishment for mistakes or just plain dumb moves. There is no death penalty to date; when you die you will be sent back to town but with all your gear, experience, and gold intact.
Dungeon Runners will launch with dozens quests received by either NPCs in town or even within the dungeons. It sounds like the quests are your average run of the mill kill this many of these, get this, find that, but that is ok because Dungeon Runners is about loot and mass killing of monsters and not running errands for lazy helpless NPCs.
Along with character creation you can customize your character further through leveling up, choices in attributes, skills, and gear. If Dungeon Runners follows Diablo in loot as it does in many other aspects of the game it is safe to say it will be rich and rewarding, it has been said that there will be prefix and suffixes so it is a safe bet. How you progress your character is not the only thing that will decide his or her power but also how you control them, you can dodge arrows and spells by moving your character out of the way, hopefully they will go further with this and allow the players actions to affect combat more.
Dungeon Runners is another free to download and free to play game, you will most likely be able to purchase additional dungeons, gear or chance for it to drop, skills, towns, etc. No word on if you can purchase specific game changes or if it is an entire package that can be picked up. All in all this is a game that you can pick up and go, kill a few monsters, clear a couple zones and log off or stay on all night farming loot and completing as many quests as you can find.
